Another One Bites the Dust for Charlton

It was being reported that Charlton were close to signing Will Hoskins, however the striker has become another in a string of players that were we’re “close to signing” that we’ve not.

Hoskins was a free agent after his Watford contract expired and reports were growing that the 24-year-old would be making the fairly short journey to SE7 but that’s not going to be the case as we’ve, along with Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday been beaten to his signature by Bristol Rovers who have handed Hoskins a two-year contract.

Thing are desperate when The Pirates (no offence meant) can beat us to the signing of a striker that they shouldn’t have. Our League 1 rivals did beat fellow League 1 rivals The Saints and The Owls to Hoskins as well though, both would’ve fancied their chances of beating both of us so maybe it’s not as bad as it seemed!

I think Parky really wanted this player, and a few others as well….It seems to me we are not in a financial position to sign anyone, even free transfers until there is some cash in the till…
