The Addicks have been rocked by the news that Svetoslav Todorov looks likely for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Alan Pardew restored Svetoslav Todorov to the starting eleven in Tuesday nights defeat to Plymouth, as he went for a front three and the Bulgarian had a lively start to the game but had to come off just after the half hour mark after a rash challenge damaged his knee.

The striker was taken to hospital, but it is unclear as to how long he will be out for, but he is undergoing scans on his knee, Alan Pardew told the Daily Mail: ‘Todorov is in hospital and that is bad news for us.

‘The two that get picked on Saturday will have to come to the three for us.’

The three that Alan Pardew speaks of are Luke Varney, Chris Iwelumo and Izale McLeod (who came on for Svetoslav Todorov) although Chris Dickinson is another option, but how easily he could be recalled from his loan with Gillingham is another matter?

Todorov is the best striker that we have (in my opinion) so he will be a big miss. His history of injuries doesn’t really bode well for this situation though does it, and a lengthy spell out looks likely?

As a Pompey fan it’s such a shame to hear of Toddy’s injury, a class act. Get well soon mate

Thank-you for that fekk, I hope the bloke does recover fully but you would have to question this now wouldn’t you. How unlucky can one man be eh?
