Charlton are close to sealing a loan deal for former England international Danny Mills.

Mills is set to rejoin The Addicks until January as Alan Pardew looks to strengthen the right back slot in his side after losing first choice Yassin Moutaouakil to injury.

Alan Curbishley signed Mills for £350,000 in March 1998 as the Londoners looked advance into the Premier League. They indeed would and Mills became an instant hit in his first season in the English top flight.

Relegation followed and Leeds United coughed up £4.375M for the former Norwich man. The summer of 2004 saw the 30-year-old join Man City on a free and loan spells with Middlesborough and Hull City have followed.

New City boss, Sven Goran-Eriksson does not see the defender as part of his plans and Mills did not even feature during pre-season.

Elsewhere promising midfielder Josh Wright has left SE7 to join League Two side Barnet on a months loan.

Good news. Mills still has enough to give and should be ok at this level. If he and Sodje both sign then im happy with that.
