Ahead of the weekend fixtures Charlton moved into the loan market to secure the signing of Marcus Tudgay.

The vastly experienced as well as being well travelled striker was signed on loan until the end of the season by Chris Powell, with his arrival confirmed on Friday ahead of the meeting with Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.

Tudgay did get on as a substitute in the dramatic injury-time win over QPR.

Powell isn’t going to be able to involve the 31-year-old striker in Monday’s FA cup fifth round meeting with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough though but his experience will offer the boss another option as a starter or someone to turn to from the bench as the Addicks look to get themselves out of the relegation zone.
