A Sorry State

What if anything can we take from this game at the Valley. Just a few months ago, we went to Fleetwood and produced one of our best displays that promised a great season for the Addicks. Three quarter played this season and our team is unrecognisable from the one that destroyed the Cod Army on their own patch. Tarquin Tosu was the difference then. He produced the clinical finishing that is sadly missing in the team of now.

We are constantly reminded our squad has suffered a big set-back with injuries, selling players and the biggest issue of course is the take-over that has not happened.

All this can be a presence no doubt, but the players we have should be good enough to compete specially when faced with a team that lacks composure and the right winning mentality.

We went to Blackpool on Tuesday and if I`m really honest this game set the format that we suffered against Fleetwood. I`m not going to dwell on the Blackpool game it is better forgotten. Then should I even consider going into detail from what I feel is the final downward trend that has shaped our season.

The game regardless of player`s status should have produced a result and not an insult to all who bothered to turn up on this very cold day and were expecting something different,
Fleetwood after all are hanging on to their survival in this division and should by all accounts have been out of sight if their record is anything to by. But as in all games home and away, the Reds found it impossible to make any impact or to break down the Cod Army resilience in defence. A far cry from the performance the Red Army put on earlier in the season.

I have not written for some weeks now, not because I have not anything to say, I always find plenty, no problem there. The problem writing for Football Now has become a little too personal. I wanted to clear my head and become less of a critic and more of a writer. I feel in past articles I have launched far too many attacks on individuals which ruffled a few feathers. Factual arguments are my new approach. Football has become my main aim and I have taken a few tips from a very good writer of articles to further my own take in this very competitive world of journalism.

I hope from now on I can offload more interesting readings that will appease all who read these articles in the future. Fingers crossed.
