What an amazing night it was at Stevenage. Charlton completely ripped Stevenage apart at Broadway Hall recording our biggest ever victory since we beat Middlesbrough 8-1 in 1953.

Not only have we broken our goal scoring record for a single game, we have also got our first debutant hat-trick courtesy of Toby Stevenson who is in fact a defender! So to see something like this happen is a real rarity and now maybe we could see a rise from Toby Stevenson up the Charlton ranks unless Roland sells him first. That’s the only problem we have with bringing up our youth, as long as Duchatelet is still the owner, our days on our young talent are numbered.

Moving on to the more positive things that came out of this game, I just could not believe it when I looked at the scores on my phone, 8-0! I mean that is just crazy I have never seen a Charlton game like this in my life, the biggest victory I ever saw was against Barnsley in which saw the Addicks score six with six different players.

When I saw the team sheet for last night’s game I thought we were going to be defensive playing with five at the back, however they proved me wrong with the rout of Stevenage and it shows that our youth alongside some of our senior players can swiftly dispatch a League Two team with ease. Yes, they are not a great team but Charlton showed their dominance and I’m proud of every single one of those players.

Let’s take a moment to talk about Toby Stevenson, what a debut it was for him he managed a hat-trick and he also scored one of the goals of the season for Charlton I’m sure with a fantastic first-time curling effort. Put him up front I say after a performance like that, he may have just found what he is best at on the pitch.

We have now entered the international break a time football fans in England hate, I mean yes we do get to see England play, but does anyone really want to see that unless it’s the world cup? No we really don’t.

It’s also a bad time for people like us there is hardly any news floating around so hopefully something happens in this break and then I can push more content our for you all, but until then I will have to keep on searching!
