This afternoon saw us sign former Celtic and Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley on a short-term deal for the experienced 32-year-old.
While Joe is raring to get off the mark at Middlesbrough tomorrow afternoon, Lee Bowyer and Steve Gallen have had their say on their newest acquisition and speaking with the club website the two men had this to say
LB: “He has experience, he has been in the game a long time, he’s an international player. He’ll come in again and help the young lads that are in around it. I’m over the moon to have him on board.”
Those are the sort of player Bowyer tends to go for, questions were raised when we signed Darren Pratley last season now I can’t imagine the place without him, he’s such a big influence on the younger players and around the squad in general and Ledley could be another Pratley.
SG: “We’ve had Joe in to train with us for the week. It’s something we’ve been thinking about for a couple of weeks with the injuries that we’ve got. Lee’s been impressed, we’ve all been impressed, so we’re pleased to get him in.”
