The club have confirmed that they have agreed a fee with Middlesbrough for the transfer of Luke Young.
The England right-back’s potential move to The Riverside Stadium is subject to a medical and personal terms are yet to be agreed.
Young, 28, has made over 200 appearances for the Addicks since signing from Tottenham Hotspur for £4m in 2001.
Addicks boss Pardew announced this week that he was prepared to let Youngy go.
‘I’ve got a lot of time and respect for Luke and I appreciate where he is in his career he wants to play in the Premier League,’ the Valley boss had said.
‘If a decent club comes in and I thought the fee was right I’d let him go. I’ve obviously brought in a replacement already in Yassin Moutaouakil, who I feel is going to give real competition to Luke whether he stays or not.’
Pardew added: ‘I know that if we don’t get the right offer then he’ll stay and be as professional as he is. There is no bad feeling and he’s not being difficult.’
Good Luck Luke and thank you.

Good business for both sides.
only two and a half?
Well, we (Villa) hi-jacked the Harewood transfer to Wigan :o( I bloody hope we hi-jack this one, we need a right back!
Well give em £3m and he’s yours!
Young has not been the same player since his injury nightmare. A fresh start will do him good.
I dont think he is needed anymore and I welcome the fee are receiving although I did think it would be a little higher.
We have the french u21 capt as his ready made replacement so Pards has done a great bit of wheeling and dealing.
Thats Pardews strength…finding lower league players and turning them into Championship promotion players…..!
Totally agree Pards is a decent gaffer and he has his head screwed on.
I fully expect to be seeing you in a year, good luck for the new season.
Come On Chelsea!!!
If we dont go up I think there is a possibility Pards could leave. Thanks for the support Dicksy!
Pards has a job to do and i believe his at his old club to do well. I don’t see him going anywhere for the next few seasons. Lets hope he is successful as the club has taken a few stepa back since Curbs stepped down.
